Block Island is a favorite getaway for many area residents and tourists. With its picturesque bluffs and sandy beaches, rolling hills and quaint homes by the water, friendly downtown village flair and scenic harbors, the island is so inviting it keeps visitors coming back and attracts new faces year after year.

Though only 3 miles across at its widest point, Block Island boasts more than 300 ponds and is home to over 200 endangered animal and plant species. The island's Southeast Light is the highest light in New England and was originally dedicated by President Grant.

In the summer, Block Island's population swells to over 15,000 but in the off season, fewer than 900 call this Island home. Whenever you choose to visit, there is always something to see and do.
